Why this conversion exists

Google's WebP saves CDN bandwidth on the publishing side. The receiving side is still catching up. Slack on older clients, iMessage in some configurations, older Outlook builds, real-estate MLS uploaders, legal-discovery e-filing systems, government portals, and a long tail of internal corporate tools all just refuse WebP. What happens to WebP transparency?

JPG has no alpha channel. Morph flattens transparent pixels to white by default. If you need a different matte color (black, brand background), open the WebP in Artboard, fill the alpha layer, then export as JPG.

Why convert to JPG at all? WebP is smaller.

Compatibility. Slack, iMessage, older versions of Outlook, most legal-discovery platforms, MLS listings, and many CMS upload widgets still reject WebP. JPG is the universal format every system on earth accepts.

What JPG quality do I get?

Default is 92% quality — visually lossless for most photographic content. Drop to 80% for noticeable file-size savings, push to 100% for archival. Morph never silently downgrades like server-side tools that pre-compress before encoding.

Can I batch a whole folder?

Yes. Drop a folder, drop fifty WebPs, drop a hundred design exports. The free tier has no batch limit.

Does it handle animated WebPs?

Animated WebPs are a thing, but JPG can't store animation. Morph extracts the first frame and encodes that. If you need every frame, convert WebP to GIF or MP4 instead.
