The thesis · 2026 · still true tomorrow

Manifesto World-class tools. Anyone's price.

Image, video, vector, audio, motion — the creative stack that runs the modern internet costs more than rent in some countries, and it bills by the seat, by the app and by the year. The tools were never the problem; the access was. Morph is the same surface, browser-native, and free for everything that runs on your device. Work that runs on our servers — AI generation, transcription, the API — is paid in credits, a cent each, never expiring. No per-seat ladder, no enterprise tier, no upsell to a Pro+. Free for what you make. Credits for what we run.

01
ACCESS

The tools should reach everyone, not just the people whose employer pays the software bill.

Creative software in 2026 is gatekept by a credit card on file. A high-school filmmaker in São Paulo and a director at a Manhattan studio should have the same surface. Pricing is the gatekeeper; we removed the gatekeeper.

The five convictions

02
PRIVACY

Your file is yours

Convert anything. Nothing leaves your device. Files run in your browser tab via WebAssembly. We can't see them — that's the point.

03
CRAFT

World-class or don't ship

If a tool isn't competitive with the dedicated category leader, we don't include it.

04
FOREVER

Free on your device, locked

Everything that runs on your machine is free, forever, and will never be put behind a paywall. AI and server work costs credits, a cent each. No tier ladder.

The thesis, plainly

Three things converged at once. First, browsers got fast enough to run FFmpeg, Tesseract, Stable Diffusion, ImageMagick, PDF.js, and a dozen other professional pipelines locally via WebAssembly. Second, model weights became cheap enough to ship as static files. Third, the incumbent creative-software pricing — a subscription per app, a fee per seat, a yearly bill per editor — became unsustainable for the long tail of users who weren't billing the cost back to a corporate card. The combination created a window: build the entire creative + utility surface in the browser, ship it locally, and price it where literally anyone with a smartphone can afford it.

That's Morph. Nine studios and 184+ tools today. Image editor with generative fill, object remove, generative expand, and describe — all running in your tab. Video editor with two-pass GIF palette, LUT color grading, speed ramp, audio scope. Audio DAW with FM, wavetable, drum rack, sampler, destructive wave editor. Screen recorder with chapters and annotations. PDF tools, conversion tools, calculators, color tools, a font library, a font identifier, a barcode generator, an OCR pipeline, a flashcard maker, a decision matrix, an encryption tool. One surface. Everything.

Why free on your device

SaaS pricing is theater. A tool launches at one price. Six months later there's a Pro+ tier. A year later there's an Enterprise tier with "contact sales" pricing. The features migrate up the ladder. The original plan loses functionality silently. Two years later the original price has tripled and the user's invoice reads "Pro Plus + Add-On Bundle Tier 3." Morph refuses the ladder. Every tool and every studio runs free on your device, for every person, with no account. Work that runs on our servers is paid in credits at a cent each, and they never expire. Morph Pro is one line: $9.99 a month for 1,400 credits, live sessions, the Morph API and Soundbend’s full studio. We don't have a Pro+. We don't have an Enterprise tier.

What we won't do

We won't add ads. We won't sell training data. We won't ship a Pro+ tier. We won't gate features behind enterprise contracts. We won't run a free tier so degraded that it becomes a nag wall. We won't add per-seat pricing for teams — the per-seat surcharge is the single largest tax on small teams and we refuse to charge it. The API is priced for the compute it uses; the surface itself stays free on your device, forever.

Frequently asked

Is it really free?

Yes. Everything that runs on your device is free with no limits and no trial — it costs us nothing per use. AI and server work is paid in credits at a cent each, and credits never expire. We will not add a Pro+ tier.

How do you afford to build this?

Two ways. Credits: the AI and server work people choose to buy, priced for what it costs us to run. Pro: $9.99 a month for people who want live sessions, the Morph API and Soundbend’s full studio. Both fund the free surface.

What about features the big incumbents have that you don't?

Honest answer: there are workflows where the incumbent suites still have a measurable edge today. We name those gaps explicitly on each landing page rather than pretending they don't exist. Morph is the universal surface; specific power features keep arriving every release.

Where does the data go?

Almost nowhere. Most tools run entirely in your browser tab. The few server-side AI features (generative fill, object remove, generative expand, describe) send only the canvas data needed for the model and never store it. Privacy policy at morph.cool/privacy.
