The DSP is the difference. Soundbend ships denormal protection across every effect (no CPU spikes when audio fades to silence). Cytomic state-variable filters, the same topology the desktop DAWs use. ADAA waveshapers where ChowDSP would. ITU-R BS.1770-5 true-peak limiting on the master bus. A null-test CI harness that catches DSP regressions before they ship. The synths are sample-accurate via AudioWorklet, not the older MainThread Web Audio nodes that drift on heavy load. Mature DAWs have years of plugin ecosystem (VST3, AU), MIDI clip arrangement features, automation lanes, and decades of community tutorials. Soundbend is catching up fast (WAM v2 plugin host already shipped) but if your workflow depends on a specific commercial VST, that VST won't load in a browser.
