Five-axis grade · LUT · scopes

Video Color Grading The look. Without the cloud.

Color grading is the part of post that wants real tools — proper scopes, real LUT import, an export that actually bakes the look. Most browser editors hand you a "vibrancy" slider and a watermark. Flowcut's grading panel runs five-axis grade (exposure, contrast, saturation, temperature, tint), industry-standard .cube LUT import, and four scope modes: waveform, parade, histogram, vectorscope. The footage stays local; the export carries the look.

FIVE-AXIS

Exposure, contrast, saturation, temperature, tint.

The grading sliders DPs reach for. Live CSS-filter preview, FFmpeg eq + colorbalance bake on export. Double-click any slider to reset.

What it actually does

02
LUT

.cube import + presets

Industry-standard parser, any cube size. Three free presets, three Pro presets.

03
SCOPES

Wave, parade, hist, vec

The four readouts colorists actually use to confirm the look.

04
EXPORT

Look baked into the file

FFmpeg lut3d + filter chain. No separate XML.

How it works

  1. Open Flowcut, drop your footage onto the timeline.
  2. Open the grading panel from the side rail. Slide exposure, contrast, sat, temp, tint.
  3. Drop a .cube LUT to layer a film print look on top.
  4. Pop the scope panel — confirm the waveform, parade, histogram, vectorscope.
  5. Export. The H.264 carries the grade. The footage never left your machine.

Why people leave the cloud-grade tools

The free desktop colour suite is desktop-bound. The cloud review tools route raw footage through their cloud and bill per project. Most "online grade" tools are a saturation slider and a watermark. Flowcut's color is the proper toolkit — five-axis grade, LUT import, four scopes — running entirely in your browser tab.

Frequently asked

Can I import .cube LUTs?

Yes. Industry-standard .cube format, any LUT cube size. The parser is in src/conversion/lutParser.js. Drop the .cube file, the LUT applies to the preview, FFmpeg lut3d bakes it on export.

Which scopes are included?

Four. Waveform monitor (luminance), RGB parade (per-channel), RGB histogram, and vectorscope (hue/saturation with skin-tone I-line).

Built-in presets?

Three free: Cinematic (warm shadows, cool highlights), Vintage (desaturated, warm), High Contrast (S-curve + blue push). Three Pro-only: Teal & Orange, Bleach Bypass, Film Noir.

Does the export bake the grade?

Yes. The five-axis grade compiles to FFmpeg eq + colorbalance filters; LUTs compile to lut3d. The exported file carries the look — no separate XML.

Where does the footage go?

Nowhere. Decode, grade, scope, and encode all run inside your browser tab via FFmpeg.wasm and Canvas. The footage never uploads.

Performance on 4K?

Preview is CPU-bound today. Export runs full quality. WebGL-accelerated preview is on the roadmap.
